Senior Project week 2

A happy moment from this week was making beyond burgers with my mom for the family and getting positive feedback. I said I was going to cook with my mom but my schedule filled very quickly. Even though I wasn't around for the times my mom cooked, I ended up making doner kebabs with a friend I recently connected with, a smoked pork shoulder with William and Alec, savory popovers with my friend Jade from work, and fish and chips with Lizzy. (I am vaccinated with two weeks and have been taking advantage).
Unfortunately I was scheduled with little work this week and tried to pick up a shift but was not able to. With this time I spent a lot of time with friends and some family. During this time I worked on my comfort with silence, as this is something I lack. Even if I put myself in discomfort because of this I have definitely started to feel more comfortable and conversations have felt less forced. I also learned what doner kebabs are.
I have been working out everyday this week which has felt great. I have not worked on the painting but have been spending a lot more time in my sketch journal and focusing more on the drawings. I have drunk a gallon of water a day since Tuesday which has been satisfying and a hinderance if you know what I mean:) My goals have been going great in the absence of school and work hours. I do think I could work on that painting more though.
I am interested to see how next week goes as I have 27 hours of work, so fulfilling my goals could prove challenging. How should I motivate to get work done after working a day?

  1. Thanks for sharing all your adventures! It can be hard to motivate when tired after a long day, but I find if I have goals that I am truly invested in and I take a moment to think about why I want to achieve that goal, that can be enough to get me started. And once I start, it is easy to finish. It is the getting started that is difficult. Maybe you could put up little notes for yourself to remind yourself why you are working on that goal. I am impressed to read how you are trying to live with silence. I wonder if you might find the beauty in the silence, as you are prone to finding beauty in most things in life.
